JOHN SOMMERS, Partner, Investments, Veriten

John Sommers serves as Partner, Investments at Veriten. John previously served as Principal at Cockrell Investments, a Houston-based family-owned investment firm, where he managed investments across diverse asset classes, including private equity, venture capital, and oil & gas. Prior to that, John refined his investing acumen at Quantum Energy Partners and a Quantum-backed portfolio company, Sentinel Peak Resources. John began his career in investment banking, spending nearly three years in the Global Natural Resources groups of RBC Capital Markets and Nomura Securities.

John joined Veriten to spearhead our investing activities in the NexTen Fund and develop a broader, strategically focused investment platform. John can often be found enjoying winter mountain sports, playing tennis, strumming guitars, and attempting to keep pace with his family.
